(We are studying some math problem that seems incredibly useless.)
Teacher: “…and the we move the square root of b to— Yes, [Student]?”
Student: “Why do we need to know this?”
Teacher: “Because it’s on your test.”
Student #2: “But why’s it on the test?”
Teacher: “Because you’ve learnt it.”
Class: “That’s so stupid.”
(The teacher left our school at the end of that year, and blamed our class for her early retirement.)
