(I am making my mother’s Christmas present of a lobster pot. My partner has a long history of telling tall tales of which I fall for every time.)

Partner: “This is easier for me than you because I worked as a net-maker in the Caribbean for a year.”

Me: *totally falling for it* “Really?”

Partner: “No, you idiot, I’ve never even been there. And you can’t even tell Facebook I tricked you because it’s for Christmas.”
