A customer in line ahead of me is buying about £10 worth of stuff.
Customer: “Can I get £50 cashback?”
Cashier: “Of course.”
The cashier counts out the money but doesn’t hand it to the customer just yet – they need to pay first. I see the customer reach forward, grab £10 from the £50 pile, and try to hand it back to the cashier.
Customer: “For my things.”
Cashier: “But you haven’t paid yet.”
Customer: “I’m paying now! With this!”
Cashier: “No love, that’s not how it works.”
