Can’t Speak “Two” Languages

Me: “Hi! May I take your order?”

Customer: *starts speaking in Spanish*

Me: “Sorry, I only speak English.”

Customer: *continues speaking in Spanish*

(Realizing this is going nowhere, I decide to wing it. The only thing I understood was “dos,” so I charged him for the #2 combo off our menu.)

Me: “Um, your total is $[amount].”

Customer: *continues speaking in Spanish while handing me money*

(I think I got his order right, because I saw him take his food to a table, and not once did he come back to complain.)
