Can’t Pickup On His Idiocy

(Part of my job is to dispatch drivers to pick up customers. I call one.)

Me: “[Driver], you have a pickup from here.”

Driver: “A wuh?”

Me: “A pickup.”

Driver: “…WHO IS THIS!”

Me: “It’s [My Name].”

Driver: “…”

Me: “…”

Driver: *says some garbled nonsense and hangs up*

(Then, he came by the office to chew me out, ignoring the customer waiting.)

Driver: “YOU DON’T SAY PICKUP! GOT IT?”

Me: “What am I supposed to say?”

Driver: “YOU CONFUSED ME!!”

Me: “I said pickup from here. And there he is.”

Driver: “YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO SAY, I GOT SOMEONE HERE! NOT PICKUP! GOT IT?!” *leaves without the waiting customer*

(Since then, he’s ignored me only to give me an occasional sneering glance. What an idiot.)
