A Cur Slur

(I’m about eight years old. My grandparents got a new puppy earlier in the summer, so I’m a bit obsessed with dogs at the moment. While driving with my dad, I see a puppy sitting on a porch. I lean across the seat and yell out the window while waving.)

Me: “HI, DOG!”

Dad: “Hey, how ’bout you don’t do that?”

Me: “But it was so cute!”

Dad: “What was? The puppy or the teenage girl who was sitting there and is probably wondering why she just got called a dog?”
