Can’t Get A Handle On The Technology

Caller: “My computer keeps shutting down by itself!”

Me: “Is this the computer given to you by the college?”

Caller: “Yes! Fix it!”

Me: “So, that’s a Mac tower, one of the metal ones, with the metal loops on the top and bottom?”

The top metal loop acts like a handle, and the bottom keeps the tower off the ground to allow air to circulate.

Caller: “Well, not anymore. I sawed those off the loops so the thing would fit in my cabinet.”

Me: “That… would cause it to overheat and shut off.”

Caller: “So, you’re saying it’s my fault?”

Me: “Yes.”

Silence.

Me: “Sir?”

Caller: “You’re not supposed to say that!”
