Can’t Get A Handle On The Handle

(We are setting up the caravan for a camping trip, and it’s already dark outside.)

Dad: “Where is the headlamp?”

Me: “Hanging on the pantry door.”

Dad: *looks in the hall*

Me: “On the pantry door.”

Dad: *looks at the hall door*

Me: “On the PANTRY DOOR.”

Dad: *looks in the pantry, but not on the door*

Me: “ON THE PANTRY DOOR! ON THE PANTRY DOOR! ON THE PANTRY DOOR! NOT AT THE TOP, ON THE DOOR HANDLE, ON THE DOOR HANDLE OF THE PANTRY DOOR, THE DOOOOOOOOOOR HAAAAAANDLE OF THE PAAAAAAAANTRY DOOOOOOOOR!”

(After looking literally everywhere in my line of sight, even on the piano and the fridge, my dad finally finds the headlamp hanging on the door handle of the pantry door.)

Dad: “Why didn’t you tell me?”
