Bundle Of… Feelings

Customer: “Hey, stranger!”

Me: “Hi! Do I know you?”

Customer: “We used to work together at [Grocery Store].”

Me: “Oh, I kind of recognize you now.”

Customer: “Yeah, I’m all grown up now. I’m about to have a baby and get married.”

Me: “Congratulations!”

Customer: “Yeah, I didn’t want any of this.”

Me: “Oh. That’s… Here’s your receipt.”

Customer: “Good to see you. Thanks!”

The customer leaves, and I look at my coworker.

Coworker: “Did I hear that right?”

Me: “Yes, yes, you did.”

Next Customer: “Oh, good, so it wasn’t just me. Poor kid.”
