Bowled Over By The Sink
My family and I are staying with friends, enjoying their Southern hospitality (they take it seriously, and we were spoiled for the duration of our visit!).
The bathroom has a vessel sink; the kind that looks like a bowl sitting on top of the counter. My eight-year-old has never encountered one before and apparently isn’t tall enough to see the drain at the bottom, as I learn after she uses the bathroom.
Daughter: “Did you know the bowl drains by itself?”
Me: “What?”
Daughter: “The bowl in the bathroom. I washed my hands and the water drained by itself.”
Me: “You mean the sink?”
Daughter: “It’s a sink? I thought it was a bowl and that I’d have to empty the water into the shower or toilet after I washed my hands!”
