Bordering On Enthusiasm

| Learning | February 9, 2015

(At the start of my history lesson, my teacher walks into the room looking very excited. We’ve been learning about WWII for a while now.)

Teacher: “Okay, guys, I have a big announcement.”

Student: “What is it?”

Teacher: “The history department have managed to organise a trip to visit the WWII trenches!”

(The entire class visibly deflates, save a few students who look at everybody’s reactions in confusion.)

Teacher: *noticing lack of enthusiasm* “…which are in Belgium.”

(Everybody began cheering at this point. Apparently after learning about the war for weeks, none of them had realised it didn’t take place in the UK!)
