Blood Is Less Sympathetic Than Water

(My daughter just got a new light, and needs help installing it. Her ceiling is very high, much so that I have to use a ladder.)

Daughter: “Could you not break your neck? I don’t want any blood on the carpet.”

Me: “Breaking my neck would only have internal damage, so there would be no blood.”

Daughter: “Not unless you started coughing up blood.”

Me: “And I could start vomiting too.”

Daughter: “Don’t get that on the carpet, either.”
