Big Brother Just Wants You To Be Happy!

Upper management, apparently, read some sort of news article about how some company installed cameras at their door to tell if workers were smiling in order to promote a positive workspace. It supposedly would not let workers into the office to work unless they were smiling.

Upper management thought that this was a brilliant idea and sent around for staff feedback on the idea and thoughts on implementation.

One person in my section replied:

Coworker: “If I can’t get through the stupid door because of some stupid camera you stupids installed, you’re still paying me. I showed up. If I can’t work, that’s your problem. And I would notify lawyers if necessary.”

Strangely, after that response and numerous other responses in that vein, upper management dropped the idea and moved on to the next fad.
