Better Have A Big Fat Apology, Part 9

| Romantic | August 22, 2016

(My boyfriend definitely qualifies as the most romantic of us two and very much has a way with words, but occasionally it doesn’t always go as planned. He and I have not been dating for very long when this conversation occurs…)

Me: “I’m getting fat again.”

Boyfriend: “Babe, the only fat thing about you is your heart!”

Me: *staring at him in shock, starting to laugh* “What did you just say?”

Boyfriend: *seeing my reaction* “That sounded much better in my head than it did out loud, didn’t it?”

Me: *laughing* “Did your mother never teach you not to call a woman fat?”

Boyfriend: “But I called your heart fat! It was a compliment!”

(Despite his best intentions, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to accept that as a compliment and I definitely still tease him about it from time to time!)
