Being Very Frank About Your Art
(I’m in art class, playing with chalk. I’ve decided to cover my paper with huge, multi-colored, pastel hearts. The teacher is wandering around commenting on each student’s work.)
Teacher: *walking up behind me* “Oh, that’s so pretty! You could work for Anne Frank!”
Me: *startled* “Wha– For WHO!?”
Teacher: “Anne Frank! You know, with the dolphins, and unicorns?”
Me: “That’s LISA Frank!”
Teacher: “…Oh! Then who’s Anne Frank?”
Me: *incredulous* “The little Jewish girl! She hid in the attic!? From the Nazis!?”
Teacher: “Is that who that was?” *wanders away*
