Being Demanding Gets You Zero
I’m diabetic and only drink sodas that are diet. The Coca-Cola brand has a series of their sodas labeled “Zero”; they’re basically diet sodas, but they use a different formula that tastes better to me. On top of that, I like the vanilla variety of Coke Zero.
Convenience stores rarely stock Vanilla Coke Zero, but I do occasionally see it at our local supermarket. At the store closest to my home, I see a vendor stocking the Coke section of the soda aisle.
Me: “Hi. Do you happen to have any Vanilla Zero today?”
Vendor: “Let me check.” *Does a quick search of his pallet* “Sorry, I don’t have any. We don’t have enough of a demand for it.”
Me: *Jokingly* “Well, then, I demand it.”
He and I both laughed at my mock indignation.
But since that time, when I do my weekly shopping, there have been two to four twelve-packs of Vanilla Coke Zero in the soda aisle. I guess I was demanding enough to get my way.
