Long Distance Library
Before I moved to a different country I drove my mother’s car all the time, and had my library card on the key chain.
A year after I left, the keys fell out of my mother’s pocket when she was two hours away from home. Someone found them and took them to the police, and the police contacted the library group. They were able to email me, since my address was connected to the account.
From halfway around the world I could tell my mother where her keys were, and she was saved so much stress thanks to some public servants who went above and beyond.
