(My class is creating print advertisements using propaganda techniques. I have created a movie theater ad with a picture of Abraham Lincoln.)
Me: “So, that about finishes it off — Honest Abe thinks it just might be worth the risk of entering another theater!”
(I sit down amidst standard applause. The boy in front of me suddenly turns around.)
Boy: “Hey, you know today is the anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination?”
Me: “What? Really?”
Girl: *next to me* “Dude, you just made an assassination joke on the day of his assassination.”
