Asian Persuasion

(Everyone in my family are Caucasian; white complexion, brown hair and blue eyes; except my step-dad, who is Asian. My sister and I always refer to him as ‘dad’ rather than ‘step-dad’, as he has been our father since we were young kids.)

Classmate: “So, where are your parents from?”

Me: “Well, my mum is Australian, but we are Irish/Scottish heritage. My dad is from Malaysia.”

Classmate: “Really?”

Me: “Yeah.”

Classmate: “Oh. Yeah, I can see it. You look like him!”
