Approaching ‘Elf’ With Stealth

(During eighth grade, on the last day before Christmas break, people are lazy and do not want to work much (which is understandable). When I arrive in orchestra for first period, the teacher gets everything together and writes on the “daily goal” part of the board “Students will  be able to say they learned something before Christmas break”. Everyone groans on the inside.)

Teacher: “Now, it is very important to keep learning before break, so let’s get started: It is very important for you all to put on deodorant each morning before school. All right, now we are done here.”

(We watched ‘Elf’ the rest of the period! Well played, orchestra teacher!)
