And The Pest Picture Goes To…

I was working at Home Depot a while back. I was called into Pesticides by a woman who was holding a product we sold to repel rodents. It was called something like “Critter Ridder” or something similar. It had a picture of a bunch of rodents and other animals (rats, chipmunks, skunks) on the side.

Me: “How can I help you tonight?”

Customer: “Yes, thanks. I was just wondering… does this work?”

Me: “Did you read the package, ma’am? Our products generally work as advertised.”

Customer: “Yeah, I did, but the animals on the package look fine. I just wanted to make sure.”

Me: “…That just shows all the animals it works on. It doesn’t tend to show them when they’re… uh… repelled, because then they would be gone.”

Customer: “I suppose… still… maybe show them running away or in distress or something?”

Me: “…you have a nice night, ma’am.”

I had to walk away because I was busting a gut trying to hide that I was laughing so hard.
