I am taking a table’s orders. I ask about any allergies.
Customer: “I’m allergic to spicy.”
Me: “To spices?”
Customer: “You know, the jalapeños and the other one.”
“The other one”?!
Me: “Can you specify if you’re allergic or if you just don’t like it?”
Customer: “I’m allergic to spicy. When I eat it, my eyes water and my mouth burns.”
