Air Conditioned To Complain Regardless
I am a cashier for a regional restaurant chain that is a slightly more upscale fast food place. The prices are higher than other fast food chains, but the quality of food is better and all food is made to order. It is a very hot day, and I am waiting on an older gentleman. It is between rushes, so the dining room is nearly empty.
Me: “Hi, how are you today?”
Customer: “Where are all the customers?”
Me: *Jokingly* “My guess is that they’re all home in the air conditioning!”
Customer: “No, you’ve raised your prices so high that you’ve driven all the customers away!”
Me: *A little taken aback* “I’m sorry, sir, but I have no control over the prices; it’s up to corporate.”
Customer: “Oh, I know. I just wanted to tell you.”
The customer proceeded to order his apparently overpriced food.
