A Wing And A Miss
I was working at a chicken wing place.
Customer: “I want the [Name I Have Never Heard Of] sandwich.”
Me: “Sorry, ma’am, but I’ve never heard of that. It’s not a menu item.”
Customer: “Yes, you do have it! I just ordered it here last week! Did you discontinue it?!”
Me: “No, I’ve been working here for four years and have never heard of that sandwich. I’m sorry.”
Customer: “Oh my God! Are you freaking kidding me!? Look, I’ll show you that you do have it! I just got it last week!”
She angrily pulls out her phone and pulls up a website with said sandwich on the menu.
Me: “Ma’am, are you aware that the website is for a sandwich place five minutes away?”
She looks back at the phone, and then looks around our place, and gets really huffy.
Customer: “This is still your fault!”
Me: “Sorry, but how?”
Customer: “It’s still your job to get the customer what they want! You should be offering to make this sandwich for me to keep my custom!”
Me: “I’ll remember that when I’ve got a craving for wagyu beef and foie gras the next time I’m in McDonald’s.”
She stormed out after that, hopefully to the correct place this time.
