A Weak Understanding Of Weak Muscles

(I’ve been going to the same doctor now for almost six months. It’s a small practice, so everyone recognizes me pretty easily. There is one nurse who I dislike because she doesn’t listen very well. Note that I have an ‘invisible’ disability that is on my chart, and it’s plainly noted I have trouble walking.)

Nurse: *sees me in my new wheelchair and speaks loudly* “What happened to you? What did you do?”

Me: “…I have fibromyalgia?”
