A Thousand Reasons To Be Thankful
(I’m a customer at a store that sells materials for making handmade jewellery. I need 1,000 of 3-mm diameter metal rings, so I dutifully count them out from the pile in the box on the counter. I then go to pay for my purchase.)
Cashier: *rings up my other items, than stares in horror at the giant packet of rings* “Please… don’t tell me you didn’t count them?”
Me: “I did. That’s a thousand.”
Cashier: “Thank God!”
