A Suspended Relationship Needs Animation

(My fiancé and I have been talking about moving in together again. We currently live apart even though we have a one-year-old daughter. We visit very often because of this.)

Me: “Honey do you want some coffee or tea while I’m up?”

Fiancé: “Tea would be lovely. With honey, no milk.”

(A few minutes pass as I prepare the drinks. He calls to me from the other room.)

Fiancé: “What do you watch in the morning?”

Me: “Cartoons usually.”

(I finish, and bring in the drinks to find my fiancé curled up on the couch with our daughter watching cartoons.)

Me: “Yeah, we could totally do this.”
