A Sole Responsibility

A customer is trying on some shoes in my shoe store.

Customer: “Is there a mirror I can check these out in?”

I point out a wall-mounted mirror about a meter to the left.

Customer: “Is there a closer mirror?”

Me: “No.”

Customer: “Can you bring that mirror closer?”

Me: “Sir, it’s wall-mounted.”

Customer: “…”

Me: “Why don’t you try walking around in the shoes to see how they feel, toward the mirror?”

Customer: “Why would I do that?”
