A Slave To The Backstory

(My friend and I re texting about a brand of dolls we had as kids. Each doll has its own story. Some dolls are retired, so they are no longer available for purchase.)

Friend: “Addy was always my least favorite.”

Me: “She wasn’t my favorite either, but she had a cool story. Did you know she was a slave?”

Friend: “ARE YOU SERIOUS?! She was a slave? Do they still sell her?” *pause* “No pun intended.”

Me: “[FRIEND]! INAPPROPRIATE!”
