A Senseless Comment

(My son’s German girlfriend is visiting, and they have a habit of having pointless and fairly nonsensical arguments. Due to English being her second language, she also sometimes gets confused about whether things are grammatically correct.)

Son: “Oh, shut up.”

Girlfriend: “What?”

Son: “You heard me.”

Girlfriend: “I didn’t say anything!”

Son: “Your face didn’t say anything!”

Girlfriend: “That doesn’t even make any sense! I think.” *turns to me* “Does it?”

Me: “Not even a little bit.”

Son: “Hey! Don’t help her! She’s a multilingual med student! English is the only thing I’m better at than her. Don’t take that away from me!”
