A Rooftop Ball

(My school has four different connected sections. In the center, there is a terrace right beneath the second floor. The school has three floors, so you can’t fall off the terrace, but nobody is allowed to go on it. I am with a couple of friends when Friend #1 notices two golf balls on the terrace.)

Friend #1: “Ooh! I want those!” *she opens a window and climbs out onto the terrace*

Me: “Are you serious?”

Friend #2: “A teacher is coming!”

(I and Friend #2 casually lean against the window to block Friend #1 from view. Unfortunately, Friend #1 didn’t hear our warning.)

Friend #1: “I got the balls!”

Teacher: “You sure do!” *walks away*
