A Resolution To The Resolution

Back in the Windows 98 days and before I had my own computer, I used to always be on the family computer playing games like ‘Diablo’ and ‘Dungeon Keeper’.

Sometimes when starting the computer, the video card drivers wouldn’t load right, and it would come up in 640 x 480. Well, to my dad, anything that went wrong on the computer was my fault because I was on it all the time, and he would always tell me:

Dad: “If you don’t know how to use the d*** thing, then don’t use it.”

I had been bugging my dad to let me build a computer so I didn’t have to always use the family’s computer, and he wouldn’t always have to kick me off.

One time, when it booted up in 640 x 480, he called me up to his office and said:

Dad: “I don’t know what the h*** you keep doing to this thing, but you better f****** fix it.”

So, I restarted it, and it booted fine. I tell him:

Me: “If you don’t know how to use the d*** thing, then don’t get on it.”

The next day, we went shopping for computer parts so I could build my first computer.
