A Penetrative Enquiry

| Working | May 1, 2017

(I am scheduled for an operation due to sexual dysfunction and end up calling the number for questions. This is not my first question, and I know the employee and my surgeon are in communication, so I am not expecting this.)

Me: “Sorry, this is [My Name] again with a question I should have asked at scheduling. My operation is supposed to be after my period, but it’s so late that I think I’ll be on it during the procedure. That won’t be a problem, will it?”

Employee: “It shouldn’t be. I’ll double check with [Surgeon] but I wouldn’t worry about it. Is there a possibility that you’re pregnant?”

Me: “…I’m having a hymenectomy. I’ve never been able to have vaginal penetration. So no, I don’t think it’s likely.”

Employee: “I see. Well, I’ll call you back, but like I said, I don’t see it being a problem.”

(I would have thought the staff would know I’m not the Virgin Mary.)
