A Happy Ending? It Doesn’t Even HAVE An Ending

I’m at a library performing some routine electrical maintenance when I hear an older patron discussing book recommendations with one of the librarians.

Librarian: “What kind of TV shows do you like to watch? It can give us an idea of what books to recommend to you.”

Older Patron: “Well, my grandkids keep trying to get me to watch that Game of Thrones show. I figured maybe I’d give that show a try soon.”

Librarian: “That’s perfect, sir; the show is actually based on a series of books by George RR Martin.”

Older Patron: “I’m still not sure. Is it a hopeful story, one where the good guys win in the end? And everyone has a happy ending?”

I almost got down from the ladder to comfort this poor man.
