A Flu Shot Or A Long Shot
I stop at the grocery store’s pharmacy to get medicine (flu). As I am bagging my items, the guy behind me says to the cashier:
Customer: “I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but you’re offering free flu shots. I don’t want a flu shot; can you offer me something else for free instead?”
I stood there for a moment, looking at the blank expression on the poor cashier’s face. Then I say loudly to both:
Me: “Wow! I am so sick I must need to go home and get in bed immediately, because my fever must be causing me to hallucinate!”
They both look at me.
Me: “Because no way in h*** did I just hear you ask for something for free because you don’t want the free flu shot? I mean, the entitlement alone… wow… I didn’t know my flu-ridden brain could come up with something so outrageous.”
The customer, now looking embarrassed, starts to leave, before saying to me:
Customer: “If you’re sick, you shouldn’t be here!”
Me: “It’s a pharmacy, a**hole!”
The cashier silently thanked me after he left.
