Student: “Mrs. [Teacher], can I go to the front of the school?”
Teacher: “Why?”
Student: “My mom is bringing my rifle and I really need to go get it now.”
Teacher: “Um… rifle?”
Student: “For color guard.”
Teacher: “Oh! Okay. But maybe next time, start with the part about color guard. I was starting to worry about why you would need a rifle at school.”
