A Brewed Awakening, Part 4
I’m in line in a busy coffee shop. It’s in the lobby of a large office building, and it’s the morning rush, so there are a lot of us getting our shot of caffeine before going upstairs to our cubicle lives.
A woman rushes in, sees the line, then shouts to the baristas:
Customer: “I’m in a hurry!”
Barista: *Zero hesitation.* “Why are you here, then?”
The customer stood there a moment, blinked, and wandered out, defeated. I don’t know what main character service she was expecting, but it was beautiful seeing it squashed so thoroughly and efficiently by a barista who barely looked up while making a drink.
