Gutten Tag, Señor

(We have a lot of students sign up to take Spanish. They run out of room with the Spanish teachers, so they tap the German teacher. He is conversational in Spanish, but not fluent.)
Me: *as I enter class* “Gutten Tag, Herr Professor.”
Teacher: *confused, looks down at his watch, then back at us* “Isn’t this fourth-hour Spanish?”
(We had fun greeting him that way the rest of the year. I learned as much German as I did Spanish that year.)
