It’s No Longer A Solo

(This story occurs after the school day, in the hallway, after band, my last class. The teacher lets us play on the percussion instruments at the last minutes of the period. I use this time to my advantage and I play the ’20th Century Fox’ drum solo.)

Friend #1: “What were you playing back there?”

Friend #2: “Yeah, I didn’t recognize it.”

Me: “It was the ’20th Century Fox’ drum solo, y’know—” *starts to sing it*

(Nearly everyone in the hallway starts suddenly singing along.)

Me: “All righty then…”
