(In my AP World History class, we’re discussing how different certain explorers, such as Christopher Columbus, Vasco de Gama, etc., would have different stories if they were women. My group focuses on Columbus and de Gama, both of who were missionaries, and decide that the patriarchal Church of the time wouldn’t trust the women explorers. Afterwards, we have to write one of our theories on the whiteboard, which I do, and the teacher reads them aloud to the class.)

Teacher: *reading ours* “The sexist church of both Spain and Portugal would not have trusted the female explorers with their…” *fades and tries to read my small handwriting*

Me: “…missionary positions.”

(The whole class except me started laughing.)
