| July 22, 2015
(During a lecture our professor brings up a very well-known historian whose theory on the topic was proven wrong.)
Lecturer: “But the thing is Paul Kennedy sold a lot of books, he was proven wrong but is still a very successful historian. My mentor always said to me get proven wrong and you’ll do better than if you get proven right.”
Me: “Are you saying the best way to succeed in Academia is to be wrong?”
Lecturer: “Pretty much yeah…”
