Been Dyeing To Ask

(My hair is naturally golden blond, but since I dye and bleach it a lot, it’s currently very colorful, with about seven or eight horizontal stripes of black, blond, and red. Most people understand that it’s dyed… most.)

Girl: *approaches me during lunch* “Is your hair natural?”

Me: “What?”

Girl: “Is that your natural hair color or no?”

Me: “…yes.”

Girl: “Really?!”

Me: “Yep! You see, [area where I’m from] had a series of super-secret experiments where they tried to breed humans and animals, and my family is a result of that. My great-grandmother was a zebra!”

Girl: “…woah!”

(I’m not sure if she understood that I was pulling her leg…)
