Being Very Candid With Her Camera
(We are on a history trip to Auschwitz Birkenau, the largest concentration camp used by the Nazis in World War II. I have a short temper and am not particularly well liked by teachers because of this. We are at the end of the tour, when I hear two of my classmates playing with their camera.)
Classmate #1: “This is such a good background!”
Classmate #1: “You look so hot!”
(I turn around. They are taking selfies on the train tracks with the watchtower behind them. I head towards them.)
Classmate #1: “Ooh, [My Name]! Take one of us!”
(Classmate #1 holds out her camera, wrapping her arm around her friend. I take the camera in one hand and slap her with the other, catching the friend with the backhand. The teacher grabs my arm.)
Teacher: “I saw nothing. But let’s leave it at one ‘nothing’, shall we?”
