(I’m spending the day with a friend and her fiancée, picking music for their wedding. The theme is decidedly geeky, and we’ve already added numerous Disney songs, Harry Potter, and Star Wars to the playlist. Then we get to more recent fandoms…)

Friend: “Oh, my god, you HAVE to play The Rains of Castamere!”

(For anyone who hasn’t watched Game of Thrones, pretty much every time anyone plays that at a wedding, somebody dies. Brutally.)

Friend’s Fiancée: “What? No, are you nuts?!”

Friend: “Aw, come on, it’ll be hilarious! Everybody will be looking around and freaking out and we can just sit out of sight laughing our a**es off!”

Friend’s Fiancée: “NO!” *to me* “Why do you even have that, anyway?”

Me: *shrugs* “It’s funny to watch people when we play it.”

(My friend’s fiancée put her foot down and we didn’t play it. But the catering staff went nuts when we played the theme song instead!)
