Planting New Friendships

(I am getting to know my new flat mates over a few drinks in our kitchen and the conversation has turned to relationships.)

Flatmate #1: “I have a girlfriend but I’m asexual.”

Flatmate #2: “Isn’t that what plants do?”

(We all laugh.)

Me: “Yes. [Flatmate #1] is a plant.”

Flatmate #2: “That was stupid of me, wasn’t it?”
