There Is Only One Life Choice
(I am visiting my mom’s cousin for the weekend right after graduating college and looking for jobs. We stop by her neighbor’s house and I meet the four- and eight-year-old children. As the mom is talking with my cousin, the little kids are showing me around their house when the following conversation happens.)
Eight-year-old: “Miss, [My Name], you’re a teenager right?”
Me: “Nope, I’m older.”
Eight-year-old: “Oh, so you’re a mommy!”
Me: *laughing* “Not yet.”
(She stares at me very confused not grasping the concept.)
Me: “I’m in between a teenager and a mommy.”
Eight-year-old: “Well, when will you become a mommy?!”
