Tunnelled Through All Your Excuses

| Friendly | April 9, 2015

(I make the mistake of giving my home phone number to a girl in my class so we can coordinate on a project, and she’s continued to call me every single day, convinced we’re best friends, despite me gently telling her that we aren’t friends. After about four months of this I’m out of ways to get rid of her, having tried everything I could think of from asking her not to call again to giving the phone to my brother upon seeing the caller ID and asking him to tell her I’ve moved.)

Girl: “So, what did you want to do Friday night?”

Me: “I don’t know.I was just gonna sit around and— Crap. Sorry, [Girl], I’m about to go through a tunnel.”

Girl: “Oh! Well, call me back when you’re through?”

Me: “Yeah, sure.”

(We say our goodbyes and hang up. My mother is both upset that I was so rude to the girl, and trying not to laugh at the fact the girl honestly believed the house phone was going through a tunnel.)
