(This is the first time I’ve ever taken a call regarding a return or exchange or refund. I’m still not sure how it got out of control and how she ended up yelling at me. )

Me:” Good day, XXX Dairy Department, my name is XXXX. How can I help you?”

Customer: “Yes. I was in your store and bought (Brand of hotdogs) and I was charged 2.98 instead of 1.98. I want you guys to give me my dollar back! You’re ripping me off!”

Me:”That’s actually the price of those hotdogs. I just checked.”

Customer:”Well, now that I look them, I bought (Brand 1) but I was charged for (Brand 2).”

Me:”I’ve never heard of that happening before, but I’m sure if you bring in the hot dogs and the receipt we’ll have this sorted out.”

Customer:”I have to bring them in?”

Me: “Well, I think so…I mean, how is the store going to know you didn’t actually buy the brand on your receipt?”

Customer: ” YOU’RE WRONG! THIS IS A PROBLEM IN YOUR SYSTEM!!!”

Me:”I’m not denying that, there very well could have been a system malfunction-”

Customer:” I left them at home! I’m on my way for a meeting! I’m going to be late! I don’t have time for this!!! You’re wrong! I just want ya’ll to know you’re wrong!”

Me:”I’m very sorry-

Customer:”I am going to be late and it is your fault! I want to see a manager when I get there!”

Me: “I’ll let them know. Just ask customer service to page one up when-”

Customer: “Oh, I know allllllll about your customer service.”

Me: “*deadpan* I’m sorry for the inconvenience and have a nice day.” *hangs up*
