Unfiltered Story #67516

(A customer and her elderly mother step up to my till. The mother puts something on the belt that I can’t see behind their other purchases. I start ringing them up.)

Customer: Sorry, she has the sillies today.

Customer’s mom: I’m old, I’m allowed.

Me: Best excuse.

Customer’s mom: And I’ve had too much sugar.

Me: Second best excuse.

(I finally get to what the mother put on the belt with the other purchases – a pile of leaves) Customer’s mother: See, I got you something too! Aren’t they pretty?

Me: Yeah, they are! And I even have a spot for them.

Customer’s mom: Right in the garbage.

Me: Yep!
