Unfiltered Story #67378
(I work in a shop that sells a lot of shoes and belts.)
Customer: This belt looks like it has been worn. Can you check to see if there are others, or if I could get a discount on it?
Me: I’ll go check.
(I take the belt and look for a few seconds, finding no other matching belts, but I find two similar ones.)
Me: I couldn’t find another one like this. These are similar, though.
(While he looks at the belts I brought him, I look over the one he gave me.)
Me: Wait, this belt has [other brand] logo on it. We don’t sell this.
Customer: Oh! Well, that’s my belt then! Ha, isn’t that funny!
(This was one in a chain of miscommunications, but this was the most memorable.)
